TRD Pimps the New 2009 Scion tC

Scion recently debuted a new Release Series auto; the latest limited-edition Scion was newly revealed on Feb. 11th2009 at the Chicago Auto Show. Ironically the 5.0 Series tC was unveiled one year after the debut of its predecessor, the tC RS 4.0, but caught much more attention. In comparison to the tC RS 4.0, Scion has made significant modifications that go beyond the new flashy exterior.
The Scion tC RS 5.0 still has the TRD (Toyota Racing Development) theme but nearly everything in the TRD parts catalog has been added to the car. This limited-edition Scion has custom 18-inch wheels in matte black, a rear sway bar, a sport muffler, lowering springs, and an optional lip spoiler.
The tC RS 5.0’s interior also includes black cloth seats with red accents to contrast how dark it is, black leather steering wheel with matching red stitching and special TRD- emblem floor mats. To mirror its limited-edition status, the Scion tC 5.0 is also individually numbered. Expect to see the new tC arriving in style. Best of all these details is that this TRD-infused car will only be an additional $2,300 to the base price of the typical tC. Manual five- speed transmission will have a retailing starting price at $17,000 and a no-hassle automatic transmission will retail at $17,800.

We don’t get Scions in this part of the world, and I’ve never been keen on them, but this one is pretty tidy!

I own one of these my dumbass bought the automatic transmission. However great car very nice looking sounds great too. and am adding the pedestal spoiler this weekend as for stats 161 engine hp the exaust might add one or two hp according to Scion but not much if any. The bonus is in the 09 models of Toyota and Scion you can shift through the gears with an automatic transmission. I like shifting it and my 0-60 runs at roughly 8 seconds. remember on an import like this all your hp is at 6000 rpms so you have to shift this car in high rpms for it to go fast. i read online the WHP is approx 140-148 planning on making a trip to the track soon to see what my 1/4 mile time is. Its funny cause all my friends when they heard i got a tC go THATS A GIRLS CAR then i pull up nd they go damn! that aint a chick car. also planning on adding a new grille, 12 inch subs with a custom painted fiberglass box, maybe the cold air intake not sure yet have heard bad stuff bout them cause the placement can make it pull water into the enigine. n e one upgrade theirs?
Yeah all the new TRD Scion has engine wise is an exhaust which cannot make that much power so 160 – 170hp is a good round number. Lately I have seen a bunch of turbocharged Scions running around! tC’s are a sweet car and definitely not a girls car! Your friends are just hating on you Ryan!
I just bought one on Saturday, and I absolutely love it!! The TRD package really is nice on the Scion.
Man I have bought this car 6 months ago and its off the chain i got my friends hateing too bro . girls love my ride i’m going to put the trd intake soon and the wheels are nice 18 blk and red is niccee yall …….
oh man i got this car last saturday.. 20% percent tints all around except the windsheild.. man looks beautiful.. and got 2-12 inch jackhammer with alpine amp in the trunk.. haha damn that thing does its job pretty amazing.. i love this car..
Im proud owner of #1252!!! I traded my ‘06 Flint Mica tC for my new RS 5.0… The Scion tC in general is the best thing on the road IMHO.. So why not have the best of the best?? I do!!! The TRD Cold Air Intake in addition to the TRD Exhaust makes for a near 180hp and if you add a few of the other TRD upgrades (supercharger, clutch, limited slip differential) you get get well over 200whp with no turbo.. Otherwise, some turbos ive seen run between 320hp – 400+..
