Sports cars are all about fun, speed, performance and enjoying the thrill of the ride.

There are definitely few things that are more exciting that being behind the wheel of a super fast top-of-the line car. Mini vans and SUV’s are practical and all but they aren’t exactly thrilling to drive. Let’s take a look at two amazing sports autos which are hot enough to rock your world! Today we’ll take a look at the powerful GT-R super car from Nissan and the more attainable F-86 from Toyota.

Most people don’t think of Nissan cars are super fast; I mean how fast does the Sentra or Maxima really go? However, Nissan’s sports oriented GT-R is a completely different story. This car can compete with the most expensive exotic cars that money can buy! Do you know how fast this car is? She can go from standstill to sixty in just 3.3 seconds! That makes the GT-R one of the fastest cars on the market.

Not only is this ride fast; it’s also athletic looking with a bold demeanor and an aggressive style. It is well equipped with a super powerful 3.8 Liter six cylinder engine which outputs an intense 434 horsepower; this beast of a car can reach intense speeds of up to 193 miles per hour. For the most part Nissan is a brand that produces cars that are attainable for most people. However, the GT-R is another story. Estimated price for the price is around $63k model. However, that’s a lot cheaper than some comparable exotic cars, some which aren’t even as fast!

Nissan is normally known as an affordable brand but the GT-R is on another level; this car can compete with exotic and exciting but very expensive rides like Ferrari and other exotics. It can go from zero to sixty mph in just 3.3 seconds! That’s faster than a lot of exotic cars that cost a small fortune. Gas mileage isn’t too great at 15 mpg in the city and 21 mpg on the freeway but that is to be expected of a vehicle with an emphasis on speed, power and supreme performance. New Nissan Los Angeles got lots of cars in stock.

The seats are covered in leather and very comfortable. Sweet amenities include the ability to listen to your Ipod via speakers, a sweet stereo system and a navigation system with turn by turn directions. Trunk space is a bit on the small ride with 8.8 cubic feet but that’s the norm in such a high performance vehicle.

Another sports car to keep an eye on is the F-86 from Toyota. This vehicle will actually use a Subaru engine but it will be produced by Toyota. The engine is expected to put out anywhere between 200 and 250 HP although definite numbers have not been officially released yet. In contrast with the luxury GT-R sports car, the FT-86 will be much more affordable and a more realistic purchase for the majority of shoppers with a modest price tag of around twenty three thousand dollars. Boston Toyota has excellent deals on cool cars.

As of the moment Toyota does not have a hot rod sports car in its lineup and it hopes that the F-86 can appeal to the sports car market. We are not certain when this auto will available for sale but we can’t wait for it’s release. The GT-R is suggested if you want the ultimate in performance and luxury while the F-86 also offers a sporty ride but a more affordable price. Nissan 370z Los Angeles offers a large selection.

Even one of the wealthiest suburbs in the nation, Orange County, has been affected by the recession. Prior to the recession it was all about excess; Gucci, Dior, Maserati’s and Lambo’s.

Now residents are concerned with gas mileage and getting the most bang out of their every shrinking buck. One change can be seen in the recent popularity of hybrid cars. Hybrid cars are an excellent idea in times like these due to their great efficiency. The Prius in particular seems to have struck a chord with residents. The V4 1.8 Liter engine works in conjunction with the electric motor for a total output of 134 hp. There are three driving modes available which are customizable to your preferences; Eco, Power and EV. The interior is quite spacious with plenty of leg room for all passengers and seating is very comfortable. A display shows the Hybrid Synergy Drive System in action. MPG is at 51 mpg in the city and 48 mpg on the freeway. Pricing starts around the twenty one thousand dollar range. Toyota Prius Orange County offers great deals on the Prius.

Just because times are tough doesn’t mean you have to give up style, personality or be bland and blend in with the crowd. On the contrary, Orange County youth are favoring the Toyota Scion XB. Pricing for this one of a kind car starts at around the $16k range. This unique auto is powered by a 2.4 Liter V4 for an output of 158 hp and in terms of mileage it gets 22 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the freeway. The premium Pioneer sound system is easily integrated with portable music players, a complete must in any modern car. An abundance of storage space is available with 21.7 cubic feet of room which can be expanded even more to 69 cubic feet once you fold the seats down. That’s more than enough room for skateboards, golf clubs, or even shopping bags. Orange County Toyota offers excellent deals on the Scion.

Another popular car in tough times is the Camry. This has been one of Toyota’s longest running nameplates and it’s been tremendously popular over the years due to its functionality and practicality. The Camry offers two engine choices available; a 2.5 Liter V4 with 169 p and a more powerful 3.5 Liter V6 with 267 hp. Mileage for the V6 stands at 19 mpg in the city and 28 mpg for highway driving. The fit and finish inside the cabin is excellent and the knobs and controls are intuitive and easy to use. Huntington Beach Toyota and Costa Mesa Camry dealer has the Camry in stock.

As you can see, even the wealthiest of counties in America has been affected by the economy. However, thanks to Toyota, many are able to drive in comfort and style while saving tons of money at the fuel pump. And it doesn’t get much better than that! Toyota Orange County is located at 1966 Harbor Blvd. Costa Mesa CA. 92627 | Sales: 866-751-1159 |

The midsize sedan market is one of the most competitive markets in the car business with heavyweights such as Honda’s Accord and the up and coming Hyundai Sonata all vying for the top spot. One car that has been a leader in this market for many years now is the popular Toyota Camry.

This family sedan has built a strong following due to its excellent value, reliability and dependability. On the outside the Camry sports a look that is clean and predictable; it’s pleasant enough but not overly exciting or eye catching. However, this auto’s key points are its dependability, not its looks. Four trim levels are available for the 2011 model; base, LE, SE and XLE.

You get to choose from two different engines, a V4 which is fine for every day driving and a V6 with a 2.5 Liter engine with 169 HP. If you don’t like to drive particularly fast then the V4 would suffice but if you like to push your car a bit and go fast then the six cylinder engine would be suggested. In terms of ride quality, the Camry offers one that is more on the smooth and comfortable side. The suspension is on the soft side and lacks the athleticism that can be found in sportier cars such as the Mazda3.

Despite its low barrier costs, the Camry offers a large number of features. The base model includes a CD player, an adjustable steering wheel and sixteen inch alloy wheels. The SE model adds in an upgraded sound system from JBL with a compact disc changer, a moon roof, detailed wooden accents on the interior and compatibility with Bluetooth devices. Seating is comfortable and trunk room is acceptab;e with 14.5 cubic feet available for all your storage needs.

When it comes to safety features, the Camry offers a detailed air bag system that even includes knee bags to protect the driver’s legs. Traction control and stability control is also in place. The 2010 model performed with flying colors in crash tests garnering a total of five out of five stars from the NHTSA for front and side impact tests.

Although there are many more contenders in the midsize sedan market than ever before, the Camry proves that it’s still a serious contender after all these years. The 2011 base model is priced to sell at around $18k.

If you are looking for a Camry in Norther California check out Santa Barbara Toyota or Santa Maria Toyota for excellent deals. San Luis Obispo Toyota dealer Toyota of Lompoc has great deals.

Toyota has recently launched the largest recall in its history with over 4 million Toyota and Lexus models identified with potential safety issues. Last fall the National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration received a flurry of reports that driver’s side floor mats were dislodging and causing the accelerator pedal to get stuck. The problem received national attention when a highway patrol officer and his family were killed. The officer’s Lexus crashed after traveling over 120mph as a result of a stuck gas pedal. Apparently the vehicle could not be stopped by the brakes alone. Toyota responded by issuing a safety alert recommending that Toyota and Lexus owners remove the driver’s side floor mats and not replace them until Toyota could investigate the matter further. The National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration also issued an alert in which they strongly urged owners of these vehicles to remove mats or other obstacles that could lead to unintended acceleration. The models with potential safety issues are:

• 2007 – 2010 Toyota Camry
• 2005 – 2010 Toyota Avalon
• 2004 – 2009 Toyota Prius
• 2005 – 2010 Toyota Tacoma
• 2007 – 2010 Toyota Tundra
• 2007 – 2010 Lexus ES350
• 2006 – 2010 Lexus IS250 and IS350

Toyota and Lexus service technicians have undergone training and are now equipped to make the necessary modifications to these models. Although it would seem to be an easy fix; just replace the defective floor mats with a more efficient design, Toyota wants to ensure the safety of their vehicles. Therefore, technicians will actually be reshaping the accelerator pedal and in some models will also install a brake override system. Beginning in April 2010 there will be accelerator pedal replacement part available for those customers that would like to have it installed. Toyota has begun issuing recall letters instructing owners to bring their vehicles in for repair and anticipates a deluge in their service departments. To help combat the inconvenience many Toyota Dealerships are offering rental cars to customers affected by the recall.

The official Toyota website offers more information about the Toyota/Lexus recall including overall safety of both Toyota and Lexus vehicles. For further information Toyota customers can contact the Toyota Customer Experience Center at 1-800-331-4331 or Lexus Customer Assistance at 1-800-255-3987.

The horsepower wars in the truck sector have been raging off and on over the past few years. We have seen 2 generations of the Ford F-150 Lighting which put down a mere 380-hp thanks to a supercharger. There was the GM Syclone which was a small pick-up that had 280-hp of turbocharged fury. And what I thought would be the pinnacle of trucks; the Dodge Ram SRT-10 which had the drive train from the Viper including the huge V-10 engine that roasted tires with 500 all-motor horsepower. Well Toyota has one-upped Dodge with the release of the TRD Tundra.

So how do you get 504-hp and 550lb.-ft of torque? Slap a TRD Supercharger and Intercooler on an already potent 5.7 liter 381-hp engine and you get ridiculous results. A TRD Dual Exhaust system frees up those spent exhaust gasses. 22-inch TRD Wheels hide the 16-inch cross-drilled rotors with six piston calipers. Wow! The suspension pieces are also TRD and lower the new Tundra about 2 inches.

Do you need a 504-hp truck? Probably not; but at $40k that’s not too far out of range for real horsepower lovers. And it sprints to 60 MPH in 4.6 seconds with a ¼ mile time of 13.5 seconds. I’m definitely going for a test drive!

Scion recently debuted a new Release Series auto; the latest limited-edition Scion was newly revealed on Feb. 11th2009 at the Chicago Auto Show. Ironically the 5.0 Series tC was unveiled one year after the debut of its predecessor, the tC RS 4.0, but caught much more attention. In comparison to the tC RS 4.0, Scion has made significant modifications that go beyond the new flashy exterior.

The Scion tC RS 5.0 still has the TRD (Toyota Racing Development) theme but nearly everything in the TRD parts catalog has been added to the car. This limited-edition Scion has custom 18-inch wheels in matte black, a rear sway bar, a sport muffler, lowering springs, and an optional lip spoiler.

The tC RS 5.0’s interior also includes black cloth seats with red accents to contrast how dark it is, black leather steering wheel with matching red stitching and special TRD- emblem floor mats. To mirror its limited-edition status, the Scion tC 5.0 is also individually numbered. Expect to see the new tC arriving in style. Best of all these details is that this TRD-infused car will only be an additional $2,300 to the base price of the typical tC. Manual five- speed transmission will have a retailing starting price at $17,000 and a no-hassle automatic transmission will retail at $17,800.
See the new Scion at the Palm Spings Auto Mall

Over the past year or two there have been many new features available as standard options or add-ons for many cars. Some of these features are revolutionary and exciting, some have been around in one form or another for years, and then there are those that died a quick death. Below is a list of 10 from Automobile News and some thoughts on each.

1. Ignition/Push Start Buttons – The first car to my knowledge to come standard with this feature was the Honda S2000. Although you still need to put a key into the ignition, the push button start was a great idea that caught on with manufacturers everywhere. BMW, Mercedes, and Lexus wasted no time in adding this to their line-up. But now this feature is even better; you don’t even need to put the key into any ignition, just have the key in your pocket and the car will start right up with the push of a button!
2. Navigation Systems – With the popularity of Magellan, Tom Tom, and other road map systems, it was only a matter of time before the in-dash navigation system would make its way onto current cars. I look forward to the day when I can afford a new car with the in-dash nav/DVD system.
3. Gas/Electric Hybrids – This has been the future of automobiles for years. Toyota and Honda know this, but it was just this year that U.S. automakers got their act together and started producing hybrid vehicles. Soon all cars will be hybrids, then electric, then gas will be dead forever!
4. Cylinder Cut-Off systems – This is by far my favorite new wave in the car industry. Cylinder Deactivation essentially turns a V-8 engine into a 4-cylinder by cutting fuel to half of the cylinder banks. This is a great way for big V-8 trucks and SUV’s to get reasonable gas mileage.
5. Paddle Shifters – We go from my favorite invention to my least favorite. In fact I hate the idea of paddle shifters on everyday cars. I feel they should be reserved for million dollar Ferrari’s that need millisecond shifts. Now cars as lowly as the Mitsubishi Lancer will get high tech paddle shifters. This marks the beginning of the end for clutch operated, hand shifted cars. I shed a tear.
6. Rear view Cameras – This option grew out of necessity. Supercars like the McLaren F1 which has the tiniest of rear windows relied on a camera to see what’s behind. Then big trucks and SUV’s like the Infiniti FX have caught onto the trend. Now many luxury cars offer this system. It makes reversing much safer and will definitely help in the area of parking.
7. Turbochargers and Smaller Engines – Again auto manufacturers like Volkswagen have used turbocharged 4-cylinder engines to produce as much horsepower as a V-8 while getting incredible gas mileage. I have always been a big fan of turbos’, which used the wasted exhaust gasses to power up.
8. Small Cars/Spacious Interiors – Again it is the Japanese sub-compact industry that sparked the rise of these cars in America. Hatchbacks have been around for years, and the folding rear seats allow for a ton of cubic space in a hatchback style car.
9. Capless Fuel Systems – Gas can evaporate! Yup this is news to me but very true. Ford is on the leading edge with their GT Supercar which features a capless fuel system. This internal sealing feature will be a trend we see on new cars in the future.
10. Information Systems – The Ford Sync provides real time traffic reports, an On-Star like feature that alerts authorities in the event of an accident, and a vehicle diagnostic system.

With these new features appearing on more new cars, the race is on for car manufacturers to provide the consumers with the newest technology.
