Even one of the wealthiest suburbs in the nation, Orange County, has been affected by the recession. Prior to the recession it was all about excess; Gucci, Dior, Maserati’s and Lambo’s.

Now residents are concerned with gas mileage and getting the most bang out of their every shrinking buck. One change can be seen in the recent popularity of hybrid cars. Hybrid cars are an excellent idea in times like these due to their great efficiency. The Prius in particular seems to have struck a chord with residents. The V4 1.8 Liter engine works in conjunction with the electric motor for a total output of 134 hp. There are three driving modes available which are customizable to your preferences; Eco, Power and EV. The interior is quite spacious with plenty of leg room for all passengers and seating is very comfortable. A display shows the Hybrid Synergy Drive System in action. MPG is at 51 mpg in the city and 48 mpg on the freeway. Pricing starts around the twenty one thousand dollar range. Toyota Prius Orange County offers great deals on the Prius.

Just because times are tough doesn’t mean you have to give up style, personality or be bland and blend in with the crowd. On the contrary, Orange County youth are favoring the Toyota Scion XB. Pricing for this one of a kind car starts at around the $16k range. This unique auto is powered by a 2.4 Liter V4 for an output of 158 hp and in terms of mileage it gets 22 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the freeway. The premium Pioneer sound system is easily integrated with portable music players, a complete must in any modern car. An abundance of storage space is available with 21.7 cubic feet of room which can be expanded even more to 69 cubic feet once you fold the seats down. That’s more than enough room for skateboards, golf clubs, or even shopping bags. Orange County Toyota offers excellent deals on the Scion.

Another popular car in tough times is the Camry. This has been one of Toyota’s longest running nameplates and it’s been tremendously popular over the years due to its functionality and practicality. The Camry offers two engine choices available; a 2.5 Liter V4 with 169 p and a more powerful 3.5 Liter V6 with 267 hp. Mileage for the V6 stands at 19 mpg in the city and 28 mpg for highway driving. The fit and finish inside the cabin is excellent and the knobs and controls are intuitive and easy to use. Huntington Beach Toyota and Costa Mesa Camry dealer has the Camry in stock.

As you can see, even the wealthiest of counties in America has been affected by the economy. However, thanks to Toyota, many are able to drive in comfort and style while saving tons of money at the fuel pump. And it doesn’t get much better than that! Toyota Orange County is located at 1966 Harbor Blvd. Costa Mesa CA. 92627 | Sales: 866-751-1159 |

What make this car different from the 2009 Toyota Prius Hybrid or the 2009 Honda Civic Hybrid is that this car can runs on electricity only for up to 40 miles. This will satisfy the daily commute for the majority of Americans. For longer hauls; the Volt has a regular gas engine that will kick in and power the car.

Of course regenerative breaking is a feature that will recharge the batteries to a predetermined level. Once the batteries are charged, the electric engine will turn back on. As you can guess the Volt will have get outstanding MPG on long trips and will emit hardly any emissions. As is stands the Volt produces no emissions what so ever with the electric motor running! My only question is too little too late? I mean the big U.S. automakers have been in jeopardy as of late. Why not get a hybrid out to the public when we wanted it 5 years ago?
