The Chevy Volt has been embraced by the automotive industry as one of the most advanced and innovative cars to look out for in 2011 and named North American Car of the Year. The concept of electric cars is a good one, however many are not practical due to their driving range limitations.

General Motors has set the release date for the first E-REV car. The Chevy Volt set to go public in 2011; is an extended range electric vehicle. Really the Volt is the new generation of hybrids which will use not only a gasoline engine but an electric engine too.
