Jumping into the real meat of these cars; the Series 4 and Series 5 sport a Hurst Supercharger which is essentially a Vortech unit.  The spent exhaust exits through a Magnaflow stainless steel cat-back exhaust and a K&N intake feeds fresh air into the supercharger.  These 2 power upgrades combine for over 570 horsepower and 525 lb-ft of torque.  This represents a 150 bump in HP and 100 bump in torque over the stock Hemi powered 2010 Dodge SRT8.

Moving to the exterior the car rocks sweet 20 inch forged rims with painted inserts.  These rims are wrapped in super sticky BF Goodrich KDW tires.   Out back a Hurst Airspeed spoiler adds to the appeal of the car.  Any self respecting modified car has to be lowered and the 2010 Hurst Hemi Challenger Series 4 rocks a full Eibach adjustable coil-over suspension with sway bars.  There are also 2 limited edition colors to choose from; black with gold racing stripes and silver with black and red racing stripes.  Special badges and graphics round out the exterior mods.

On the inside you get a limited Hurst Hard-Drive pistol shifter that comes anodized red.  Katzkin has created black leather interior with cool red stitching and Hurst logos.  There are special floor mats and dash badges that have the limited number info on them.

The cost of the Series 4 upgrade that includes all mentioned above and more comes in at $29,000 and that’s after you buy a new Dodge Challenger!  But you can bet that these cars will one day be collector’s items.

This year Saleen introduced their version of the 2010 Ford Mustang at the glorious SEMA Show.  Dubbed the S281 due to the engine’s 281 cubic inch displacement, this Mustang sports a Supercharged V-8 engine that pushes out a pavement pounding 485 horsepower.  This is a nice 150HP bump over the stock Mustang GT.

A couple of other cool features of the Saleen S281 are a Saleen Racecraft Coilover suspension, larger brakes, some huge rims, and a body kit.  A cool power dome hood delivers fresh air to the supercharger; the front gets a more aggressive look in the form of a revised grille and aggressive fascia.

The S281 does not over look the interior to complete the driving experience. With leather and suede seats accented with a clean simple stitching that is carried throughout the car.  The race inspired instrument panel is sporty yet luxurious, enhancing the driving experience.

Saleen continues to produce probably the most popular tuned Mustang on the market.  Their winning recipe for success includes big supercharged horsepower and some ingenious body pieces.

The Mustang GT has had a 5.0 liter engine in its bay for almost 30 years.  It was only in 1996 that Ford went with the 4.6L engine.  Well now the 2011 Mustang GT will get an increase in displacement to meet the 5.0 liters of days gone by.  Since the Mustang was redesigned in 2010, not much has changed on the outside; but a lot has changed under the hood.
In order to deal with the Chevy Camaro and its 426 horsepower, Ford need to add some more muscle for the 2011 model year.  So a bump in displacement and a reworked engine will net 416 horsepower; enough to contend with the Camaro SS 426HP and the Challenger SRT8 425HP.  The Mustang already is the best handling car of the bunch, and with the added horsepower, the GT should establish itself once again at the top of the muscle car heap.

Chevrolet struck a heart string with buyers when the 2010 Camaro came stock with a V-6 engine that produced 300 hp while getting 30 MPG on the highway.  Ford has decided to follow suit and will introduce a 3.7 liter, V-6 engine in the stock Mustang that will generate 305 Hp, which is more than the Camaro V-6.  Fuel Economy numbers for this engine is right at the 30 MPG mark on the highway.

The new Coupe will showcase functional ground effects and emphasize on driver comfort and control with all HKS electronics. Some of which include, a CAMP2 which monitors up to 24 data signals from the programmable calculations for fuel cost, averaging the fuel consumption and fuel efficiency in real time. The HKS Genesis Coupe includes many new features like: a HKS GT Turbo upgrade engine (to maximize horsepower and torque), HKS engine intervals, HKS limited-edition turbo exhaust system, HKS Super Mega Flow Intake System, HKS Engine Management, and HKS Hipermax III with fully adjustable suspension.

Partnering with an industry leader like HKS is a excellent way for Hyundai to expand on the performance of the already great Genesis Coupe. This new vamped up Coupe is the ideal vehicle for driving enthusiasts. And the SEMA HKS Hyundai Genesis is a great car to showcase just what a Genesis can be!

Super Snakes will be built per model year at Shelby Automobiles in Vegas but it is unclear as to how many of these special Mustang’s will be manufactured.  Shelby Automobiles designed an aggressive suspension and engine package made specifically for the car. The Ford Mustang GT500 Super Snake package will include features like a 6 speed manual transmission with 3.73:1 rear axle ratio, a Ford Racing performance exhaust system and upgrade kit with over 600hp and 590ft-lbs of torque, tuned stabilizing bars, front strut tower brace, Alcoa 20inch wheels, short throw shifter from Ford Racing, Baer 6 piston brakes including Shelby cast calipers and larger rotors, front brake cooling ducts, carbon composite hood, Shelby emblems, and Super Snake badging.

Carroll Shelby reportedly stated that Shelby Automobiles is always working on new ways to build better performing cars and that by partnering with Ford they’re giving driving enthusiasts a Mustang with amazing blow-you-away performance.

The Nismo 370Z gets an eye catching aerodynamic body kit. The suspension is sport tuned.  It’s equipped with a standard 3.7Liter DOHC V6 engine that includes a close-ratio six speed transmission with a SynchroRev-Match System. The Variable Valves and Lift Control in the engine produce 18 more horsepower for a total of 350 HP and 276lb.-ft. of torque.  The new Z also has a dual exhaust system.

To optimize a true performance machine, the 37OZ is offered with only one transmission and is the world’s first synchronized downshift rev matching manual transmission.  The high performance car also features a four wheel independent suspension, a reinforced strut tower brace (for enhanced body rigidity), and a pair of performance body dampers to manage vibrations from the road. The tuned suspension includes special tuned springs, shock absorbers and stabilizer bars.

The 2010 Nissan Nismo 370Z also has wider five spoke 19inch RAYS forged aluminum-alloy wheels that are mounted with Yokohama ADVAN Sport Y-rated high-performance tires, and new Nissan Sport Brakes including a Limited-Slip Differential.

Besides its outstanding performance to draw enthusiasts in, the Nismo stands out from the crowd with its dramatic exterior and interior styling. Body modifications include extended front nose and an integrated spoiler that increases downforce.

On the inside, the Z includes Nismo emblems, black and red fabric with red stitching, a special tachometer, leather wrapped steering wheel and shift knob and aluminum trimmed pedals. Nissan announced pricing for the new Nismo 37OZ to be around $39,130.

John Hennessey, President and CEO of Hennessey Performance Engineering stated that, “The HPE700 Camaro allows our customers to combine supercar power and performance with classic American muscle car looks in a modern, daily-drive usable sports car with a backseat and a trunk. We will be announcing other Hennessey turnkey vehicle packages for the 2010 Camaro in the near future along with an extensive list of aftermarket performance parts and accessories. But for now, the LS9-powered HPE700 Camaro, replete with ZR1 inspired looks and performance promises to be at the top of the American muscle car food chain later in 2009.”

The new Camaro will sport a LS9 supercharged V8 that will produce a 705 horsepower monster with 717lb.-ft. of torque. It will also come available with optional 15 inch carbon brakes, light weight HRE wheels and Michelin PS2 tires, and full suspension upgrades. Apart from the handling modifications, Hennessey will also be offering and exterior aerodynamics package. The package will improve down force at high speeds. Other exterior body upgrades will include Carbon fiber rear lip spoiler, Carbon fiber side rocker panels, Carbon fiber front splitter, hide-away look headlights, and a front billet grille. It’s a 2010 Hurst/Pontiac H.O version of the G8 and G6 convertible.  The new 2010 car will have 52 units manufactured to ensure its limited edition status. These cars will feature the Hurst’s traditional white and gold and black and gold colors along with Forged Hurst wheels and a unique Hurst shifter. The car will also sport a supercharged engine, suspension modifications, and a specially trimmed interior.  Full pricing, details and availability information will not be released until sometime in August.

Mugen has installed a tuned suspension that was tested at the famed Twin-Ring Motegi race track in Japan. This suspension consists of a stiffer set of lowering springs that brings the car’s center of gravity down for better handling, stiffened the shocks to cope with the lowered ride height, tuned dampers, lightweight Mugen 18×7.5 forged aluminum rims, and high performance tires.

Pop the hood and you will lay eyes on the 4-cylinder, 197-hp engine mated to a six-speed transmission with a limited slip differential.  The exhaust has been swapped out for a Mugen issued cat-back piece that sounds pissed off.

Mugen also gave the exterior a minor makeover.  While most Civics are overdone with huge body kits made from fiberglass; Mugen has added some nice urethane pieces.  The aero pieces include a front spoiler and grill, side skirts, a rear diffuser spoiler, and a cool rear wing.  And of course each limited-edition Mugen Civic comes covered in Fuji Blue.

Mugen Civic sports an interior that is upgraded with some limited edition pieces.  There is a nice Mugen Plaque that marks this as a limited edition car, a nifty aluminum shift knob, and pedal covers.

Only 1,000 Mugen Civic SI vehicles will be on sale in the U.S. which will definitely cement its status as a limited Edition Car!  The estimated retail price will be about $30,000, and this car will come with a full Factory Warranty from Honda.

Well now rumors and photos are a flying.  The 2010 version of the MazdaSpeed 3 builds on the great foundation of its predecessor.  The engine displacement will grow to 2.5L, the same as the Subaru STi.  So you can bet horsepower will also increase.  Another idea taken from the Subaru camp is the addition of a hood scoop to direct cold air to the intake.  The drivetrain remains a secret but is there is an AWD version available; you can bet I will be all over that!
