So how did they get this Trans-Am Concept car? Well start with one brand new 2010 Camaro SS and an LS engine that measures 455 cubic inches! Boar that bad boy out and stuff it with some pistons and a forged crank, top it off with some ported and polished LS7 heads and you get a healthy 655 HP and 610 lb.-ft of torque.

The exterior features some classic elements from the 1971 Trans-Am. The most evident Trans-Am throwback is the edition of a Shaker Hood that was made so famous by Smokey and the Bandit. A new front bumper, fender vents, and rear spoiler round out the body modifications. Top this off with a cool blue sports stripe and viola we have a new trans-Am.

The interior is all retro throw back. Everything was custom made to look like the 71’ Trans-Am including the dash, console, seats, door panels, carpets, and instruments. Rounding out the changes are a set of 20-inch Honeycomb rims with Nitto tires.

The New Pontiac Trans-Am Concept by Lingenfelter Performance Engineering was one of the biggest hits at this year’s SEMA show.

The goal of the new design would be something that exudes environmentally conscious yet differentiates itself from the average “wedge-shaped silhouette” that is too often seen as a hybrid. Nissan wants the car to be so unique that when people see the car they realize it is an EV and not a hybrid.

Because EVs lack an outsized engine and gasoline tank, they open up new design possibilities.  The new EV is rumored to be comparable in size to the Cube or Versa.  Nissan has not released pictures of the car but is stating that the EV has no grille, a low hood (by lack of engine), a visible recharging plug in the front, and a profile that is flowing instead of triangular, but this spy shot is circulating the web.  The new EV from Nissan is scheduled to go on sale next year.

The Essence exterior is beyond sleek.  Its fluid, seamless structure gives the appearance of molten liquid being hurled through space.  The exquisite design is a culmination of 20 years of Infiniti craftsmanship and is a pre-curser to future production models.  The Essence gives us our first peak at Infiniti’s newest Safety Shield technology, designed with the intent to create the first collision-free car.

The Essence interior embodies Infiniti’s emphatic sense of style and attention to detail. The plush leather seats and molded cabin structure cocoon both driver and passenger in comfort and luxury. However, the icing on the cake is the inclusion of a three-piece Louis Vuitton luggage set, fitted perfectly in the vehicle trunk.

My car is getting quite old lately, I have had it since I first passed my driving test over five years ago, the Ford Fiesta has done me well, it sometimes reminds me of a warrior because it just goes on and on and it never lets me down. But as of late the whole body work has started getting a little rusty.

Future Cars

So I have been saving all of my pennies and am now looking through brochures of new cars. I just cannot make my mind up on the car that I will purchase, I log on every day to have a quick browse.

Recently though while searching through YouTube I came across this amazing video showing how cars would look in a few more years. If you have a look at the above video the future cars will blow your mind away.

Looking at the silver Peugeots or the silver BMW is just amazing and I honestly do believe that in the next 10 years we will be seeing cars that are a lot more rounded. We are progressing technology wise at great speeds, if we go back to the 90s you will remember that cars were square because people did not know how to manipulate metals.

So after viewing this clip I am going to hide my money away and save a bit more until that ultimate futuristic car gets released which I can then go out and buy brand new. Give it 5 more years or so and they should be released.

What make this car different from the 2009 Toyota Prius Hybrid or the 2009 Honda Civic Hybrid is that this car can runs on electricity only for up to 40 miles. This will satisfy the daily commute for the majority of Americans. For longer hauls; the Volt has a regular gas engine that will kick in and power the car.

Of course regenerative breaking is a feature that will recharge the batteries to a predetermined level. Once the batteries are charged, the electric engine will turn back on. As you can guess the Volt will have get outstanding MPG on long trips and will emit hardly any emissions. As is stands the Volt produces no emissions what so ever with the electric motor running! My only question is too little too late? I mean the big U.S. automakers have been in jeopardy as of late. Why not get a hybrid out to the public when we wanted it 5 years ago?

The Honda FCX Clarity is the new and upcoming advancement in automotive technology. The FCX stands for Fuel Cell Experiment, and while the idea of hydrogen fuel cell cars has been around for awhile; this offering from Honda represents the most modern and ingenious take of alternative powered cars. What makes this car so exciting is that there are a limited number of these automobiles available to the general public for lease!

To understand how extraordinary this car is we must get educated on exactly what fuel cell is. A hydrogen powered automobile is essentially an electric car. The fuel cell produces energy when hydrogen passes through each individual cell. “The hydrogen passes through the membrane, in the process shedding an electron, the basic stuff of the electricity that runs a fuel-cell vehicle’s electric motor (http://www.thecarconnection.com/fullreview/honda_fcx-clarity_2009).” So basically taking hydrogen and stripping it of electrons which then are turned into electricity to power the car. And the only byproduct of this process it water. How great is that! No more noxious smog or ugly emissions; just clean power.

Of course there are a limited number of Hydrogen stations here and there. And the price of a kilogram of hydrogen costs $5. The Clarity holds 4 kilograms which will take you 270 miles. Interestingly this little fuel cell car produces 134 hp an189 lb-ft of torque which is more than enough to get around town and keep up with traffic. Honda is currently leasing these vehicles to a special few for $600 a month. Right now this is the Honus Wagner of Automobiles!
